Granule/pellet production disc is also called disc granulator which can be used for various dry powder granulation and dry powder pre-wetting granulation. It is major equipment for granulation/pelletizing dry powder. Final products from disc granulator holds many advantages like uniform shape and strong strength. Moisture of granule/pellet products is easy to control. Taeda disc granulator is featured in simple structure, easy control, low power consumption and stable running performance. It is mainly used for fertilizer, cement, chemical industry, metallurgy and mining industries.
Working principle
【Two-step method】Raw material powder are uniformly wetted by atomized water in double-shaft mixer. Uniform pellet/granule/ball nuclear will be formed and be sent to granulating disc for pellet/granule/ball production. Pellet moisture shall be controlled at 12% to 14%. Majority of water shall be added in double-shaft mixer. Small amount of supplement water will be added in granulating disc. Supplement water amount shall be controlled from 0 to 3%.
【One-step method】Dry powder will be directly added in granulating disc and spray proper amount of water. Under the function of centrifugal force, frictional force and gravity, raw pellet/ball/granule nuclear will move along a parabola. Owing to stickiness and plasticity, pellet/ball/granule nuclear will stick to each other and grow bigger gradually during moving process.
Owing to influence of parameters like disc inclination angle, disc rim height, rotation speed and moisture, material pellet/granule/ball with different particle size will leave disc rim and scroll down according to different separation angle under different gravity. Material ball/pellet/granule will constantly extrude inside moisture to material surface during scrolling process. Because of stickiness and natural volatilization of surface liquid film, material pellet/granule/ball holds certain strength and will be discharged from disc rim along with disc rotation.
